Our family vacation in Akumal, Mexico.

We spent nine days in a lovely little hotel called Hotel Akumal Caribe, in Akumal, Mexico. They had no tv, no radios within the room itself so there is no real disturbances that would pull you away from your books that you are reading or just lounging on the beach or making sand castles till a story idea pops into your mind.

I would have liked to spend more than nine days there if I was able to as it was indeed paradise. The water was great, very warm, it was liking swimming in a tropical fishtank. Mom loved the water too.

We went to a Mayan ruins which we saw a male iguana and then a female iguana who did a display for us. Mom wondered what she was doing but I knew immediately she was doing it to chase us away making her look bigger than she really is as she was guarding her den which had a young iguana popping up to see what's going on.

Mom and I did do something together that has left a smile upon her face. We rode dolphins. We did not only ride them, we had a footpush and a fin pull from them. We loved it. Next time, we go down there, I'm hoping to have myself certified as a scuba diver, I will be doing an actual swim with them in their home.

There are several reasons why I didn't want to go back home to the states, I wanted to stay there forever.

But as good things must come to an end and so this vacation came to an end but it did leave me with several fond memories.

Just a warning for dialups, the photos will be big and it will take time for them to load. But it will be worth it.
